From Me to the eyes and ears of the ‘verse, MERRY CHRISTMAS ladies and gentlemen. To those who celebrate other holidays, I also wish you Happy Holidays =)
So I got a call from one of my co-workers after they finished work today, Telling me about our Client’s loss-prevention guy coming in and asking her questions, checking her Security License and such.
I’ve been worried about the certainty of my job being secure for awhile now, but this makes me wonder a bit more about it now. Sure I could go out and get another job (which I’ve been looking at doing for awhile now, just no where locally is hiring or is offering a job that I am interested in), but I like working with the people I currently work with. If I do lose my job, I could probably get a job from the client.
Also is kind of a downer for my plans to visit someone special to me near the end of 2009, start of 2010. Still, must push on and fight the good fight, dream the good dream and all that jazz.
Signed,
Lord and Saviour of your LoveBunni.Org universe.
Yeah I watched it, so what?
It wasn’t half bad (the music, not the movie)
Whelp, its still my birthday somewhere in the world, but for now I have to stop drinking and let the alcohol in my system go away as I still have to work this weekend so wooooo lol.
Anyways, I didn’t get to go bowling (I overslept, evil nap), but I figure I can still do that whenever so =) did hire out some movies and got some KFC for dinner and of course drank alcohol with Matress =p so it was a pretty good day there.
The HIGHLIGHT however, was that someone very special and close to my heart, sang happy birthday to me. That made my birthday very special, I only wish I could have given her a hug and a kiss just to show her how much I appreciated what she did.
Now to game and get ready for my walk in a few hours if the weather is decent.
And I wanted to go for my morning walk and its freakin’ raining. yeah, we could use the rain and all, but I wanted to go on my morning walk.
f**k it! I’M GOING ON MY MORNING WALK!
Now Playing: Fei Comodo – Try No More “Fei Comodo [EP]“
Yep, tomorrow’s my 23rd birthday and well, I am kind of happy that it will be my birthday but there are some other things not related to my birthday that are on my mind, some more then others.
I guess I’ll tackle the biggest one that I am somewhat thinking about the most. Scratch that, I won’t. I don’t want to post a long wall of text to bore you or let you see further into my mind then I’d like you (the general public) to see. If I did this, I would be bearing my soul for the world to see and someone very close to me would see and possibly would make them unhappy with me (this paragraph alone may do just that, but I felt I needed to write this down).
Anyways, expect a post from me on the 19th and perhaps photos too.
That’s right ladies and gentlemen, there’s four days until my 23rd Birthday. AND! I’m yet to figure out WTH I’m going to do for the day. Yeah yeah, I know, some (if not most of you) are still thinking ‘you clueless prick! do something’ and I am, just don’t know what. I do know that Matress wants to have a few drinks with me so that’s part of the day solved.
We shall see, I want to go gambling (since Its one of the two things remaining that I have not done since turning 18). So I might do that for 10-20mins during the day. Never know, I might win something lawl.
So, last week I wrote a letter to Senator Darren Chester, Federal Member for Gippsland regarding the Internet Filter the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy wants to force down my throat.
I actually got a reply from him yesterday in which he says he shares my concerns and has personally represented my correspondence to Senator Conroy and is awaiting a reply to send me. He also sent me a Media release by the Shadow Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Nick Minchin released last tuesday.
Media Release: Senator The Hon. Nick Minchin. Shadow Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy.
_________Tuesday, 25 November 2008.
LABOR’S ARBITRARY INTERNET FILTER PLAN MISGUIDED AND DEEPLY UNPOPULAR.
_________A Labor plan to implement a mandatory, national web content filter at Internet Service Provider (ISP) level is misguided and deeply unpopular said Shadow Communications Minister Senator Nick Minchin.
Senator Minchin said nobody of decency disagreed about the importance of working to ensure the online world is safe.
“The Opposition firmly believes that adult supervision, supported by the optional user-end filters, effective lay enforcement and education should be front and center of any efforts to keep children safe online,” he said.
“In relation to criminal conduct online, our nation’s law enforcement bodies must be adequately resourced to monitor and investigate unlawful activity.
“There is no technical substitute for appropriate adult supervision when it comes to keeping our children safe online and most parents and teachers take that responsibility very seriously and any suggestions to the contrary are patronizing and offensive,” Senator Minchin said.
“Labor’s plan to implement a mandatory Internet filter at ISP level has been roundly attacked with valid concerns raised about its likely effectiveness, the adverse impact it would have on internet speeds and performance and also the precise nature of the content the Government plans to filter.
“The Communications Minister Stephen Conroy has further fuelled concerns with his talk of filtering not only illegal content, but also unwanted and inappropriate content. This policy proposal is also causing Australia embarrassment internationally, with comparisons to the world’s most repressive regimes,” Senator Minchin said.
The Government is planning a ‘real world’ trial of mandatory filtering before the end of this year and needs the cooperation of skeptical ISPs and their customers.
“If adequate numbers of INternet users cannot be roped into this trial on a voluntary basis, Senator Conroy needs to clarify whether the trial itself will become mandatory, or will this policy be implemented regardless?” Senator Minchin asked.
The Opposition continues to consult widely with stakeholders and will monitor this trial very closely. In the mean-time, it also urges the Government to re-think its plan to stop providing Australians with free pc-based internet content filters at the end of 2008.
